Backgammon is a popular board game for two people.

Practically its origin can be dated back to the time when a board and dice were created. Officially the name backgammon was used in 1645 in England first. There are numerous versions and names of the game, e.g. in China it is known as shwan-su, in Japan - sunoruku, in Korea - ssang-ryouk, in Thailand - len, sake or sake, in Malaysia - main tabal. In Poland the game is also popular as tryk trak.
